This is a really cool question and I prefer the answer that ties back into one of my evergreen rants ("Privilege is not something you have; it's how other people treat you"). The genie is warping reality so that people are happy to see and treat Aladdin as a prince, treat Jaffar as the sultan, etc
I always found it weird that two of wishes in Aladdin were political changes.
How exactly is Prince Ali a prince other than a new outfit and such? How was that gonna work when the Sultan had to like…write to his dad or something?
What exactly changed when the genie made Jaffar the Sultan?
