Yeah, I am from the old school. Seen since the 70s how black voters have gained political power in this country and within the Dem. party. That power was earned by organizing, registering and mobilizing voters to vote. This was especially true when black voters elected black mayors in big cities.
Young voters keep talking about give us power. Black voters in Detroit, Cleveland, Atalanta and Newark N.J. used their votes to elect black city council members and mayors. They did not ask for power, they took control and gained power. These early successes help black voters to elect

The black vote has become the base of the party because they are strong and reliable. Young voters need to learn this lesson.
