If you know me a bit, you know I have a thing for old kitchen and tableware clobber, check these out
If you know what number 1 and 4 are, respect!
Oooh these are gorgeous. Are 1 and 2 something to do with holding/stuffing meat and poultry, I seem to recall my Great Aunt's having something vaguely similar to number 4?
Top left and lower right are exactly that, well done!!
Genuinely amazed I remembered that. I love things like this. That is a wonderful collection
Right? Asparagus tongs, pâté slices, fish cutlery, oyster forks... when you think of it, it's all so unneccessary but it's also so beautiful
So many things. We used to have, possibly still do somewhere, this really cool silver grabber thing specifically designed for getting olives. They make things so much more fun, and beautiful
Ooh yes, sort of a long, slotted spoon thingy? Or your sardine lifter
May 6, 2025 18:55Ours was silver with three prongs which you pulled up via a tube down the centre, probably calling it entirely the wrong thing
On which note, do you know what this is?
it's to undo stitches and embroidery, often found on chatelaines, if I'm not mistaken
Awesome. Thank you. We have had it for years, it was my father in law's, but always thought it was something to do with food as was kept with the cutlery
Hm, you could disembowel small birds like larks with it, I suppose
