A day will come when I manage to meaningfully decouple the idea of Gore Vidal from the idea of Vidal Sassoon, but that day is not today.
To be more specific, I’m reading Anaïs Nin’s Wikipedia page and went “oh I didn’t know she was romantically involved with that hai- oh no, other Vidal.” Which I really should have stopped doing by now.
In no way relatedly, I read yesterday that DeForest Kelley got cast in Star Trek after spending an exorbitant $35 on a JFK-style haircut from Jay Sebring, and immediately imagined Emile Hirsch cutting his hair, because that's who played Sebring in Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood.
