- The cruelty isn’t just in the near blanket abortion ban. It’s in the Republican indifference to the lived realities of the people it harms. A family forced into grief, debt, and powerlessness by a state that refuses to see their humanity. Georgia deserves better than this.
- When the presidency becomes a showcase for a third-rate reality television host, leadership is traded for spectacle and cheap grift. Power divorced from responsibility is just a petulant smash and grab. Trump is a petty, low-class criminal selling U.S. prestige at a discount.

View full threadI’ll never understand the weird willingness to turn a blind eye to Trump’s obvious faults while simultaneously feverishly breathlessly magnifying Biden’s. Certainly two imperfect people but consider the competence and decency of the people and staff they surround themselves with.
- Evil won more votes here, and unforgivable apathy led too many to not vote at all, and I don’t understand that and won’t ever understand it.
- He’s just happy to be out of prison and lining his pockets, if the demented, spray-tanned old fool even knows what is happening. He’s a puppet, just as Hilary Clinton accurately called him. As bad as he is, everyone that idolizes him and props him up is so much worse. What is wrong with them?!
- But to Rothkopf’s point about Biden running again, he should have tee’d up Harris for her run from the beginning of his term. But he didn’t. Still, everyone with eyes should’ve recognized the stark choice between a second term of Biden v. that of Trump.
- Investigations expose falsehood. And to counter disinformation at scale, we do need civic infrastructure that operationalizes truth. Tomorrow’s leaders on campuses today is a great place to start. Truth-seeking must evolve into truth-scaling systems. Eliot is right amd I hope his work continues.
