- We're particularly excited to support career opportunities that 1) foster trans journalists' professional development and 2) increase awareness of journalism best practices in covering trans communities.
- Who's eligible? We have stipends SPECIFICALLY for: - Student journalists - Early-career journalists who didn’t attend a formal journalism program We also want to support: - Anyone looking to expand their skills and network in a way consistent with our mission
- What opportunities are eligible? This is pretty flexible — we trust you know what you need. The only real rule is that it has to be 1) journalism-related and 2) some sort of experience. We won't buy you equipment or fund a reporting project. But you can go to a conference, bootcamp, workshop, etc.
- P.S. We've gotten a few questions about how much financial need you need to have. We're not means testing this. We just want to support trans journalists and trans journalism in some small way!
- I'm a former reporter who's maybe looking into freelancing again but I've been out of the business for over 20 years. Is this still an OK place to apply?
