Cops lie and manipulate.
And they will lie and manipulate YOU. You are scared. This is another day on the job for them.
So they will use a lot of tactics to try to get you to talk, including 'this can go easy, I don't care about X, just be honest with me and ...'
SHUT THE FUCK UP.
I know lawyering up and shutting up is scary. Believe me. I do.
But you CANNOT talk your way out of an arrest or detention.
You CAN talk your way into charges, arrest, or detention.
And you'd be amazed how often the response to lawyering up is just letting you go.
