Today a couple of my fellow Master Gardeners were trying to figure out what a couple of tools donated for our rummage sale were. They went to ChatGPT and I googled the manufacturer. Guess who got the right answers AND current retail price first?

May 9, 2025 20:42It’s a bill hook- they’ve been used as tree pruning tools and ersatz polearms since the Middle Ages. That one looks like it was bodged together by a farmer with a welding rig. I’ve done that sort of thing myself rather than paying ridiculous store prices for simple tools.
Interesting, thanks. I wonder why the sharpened top edge. The wood pole is fairly long, similar to a rake.
