View full threadi concur on all your points i understand lots about masking and self-affirmation [i totally have daily mantras] children who grow dependent on others, adults who expect them to 'get over' certain things... but there's limited teachings of how this happens certain children learn to adapt, regardless
- when children don't learn to adapt, the adults they become are dependent on others but also resentful at the same time. that was bio dad, his opinion of women was 'supporting characters'; maids, baby machines, wives, mamas. 'can't live with them, can't live without them' is an old term that fits🤮

View full threadNo I get it. Had similar feelings at 13 yo about my dad when he died. He was an abusive ass but how do you admit you were relieved when you found out? (Trauma dumping is my thang. It's easy & fun! Welcome to a peek at a 61 yo disabled lady with ADHD!!)
- yes to trauma dumping and adhd💚 you get me🤣 my bio dad died... oh gosh, was that the beginning of last summer? hadn't talked in soooooo many years. fairly sure he's why i've got [currently undiagnosed] c-ptsd ...i was totally relieved when he died. conflicted feelings for sure, yikes
- main character syndrome fascinating concept, i understand! i've often observed various people who seem to think all of live is here to serve their goals or assist in their quests suppose it's a form of narcissism perhaps embrace your inner strength and figure it out for yourself? that's what we did
- hugs for your feelings. my mother got cancer and left a few years back. we had super complicated relationship, so my feelings are still mixed for proper missing sorry if that's way too much information... i love your tattoo💚
- yes!!! omg i love this so much

View full threadi made the mistake of walking outside while reading... the sunlight wasn't a problem, i wore a wide hat, but boy ever did i have a cruel headache because the ground wasn't flat and i didn't realize until later that i had my eyes on the book and the shifting ground... pacing on the porch is good tho😁
- i actually picked up my first copy of Women Who Run With Wolves, which is impossible to sit with. excited to have some nice days and bring that one to my porch for pacing
