Superb Blue Wren.
Non-Binary: they/them
- Absolutely stoked that we dodged a Liberal (Australian Republican) term and the potential of a Trump-fuelled curtailing of our civil liberties. Congrats to Labor for the landslide win, and thanks to Trump’s absolutely abhorrent international relations for ensuring it.

- And following in the footsteps of Canada, the conservative party leader lost his own seat, as did the two most likely follow up leaders. So a pretty crushing landslide.

- Oouuugh, I'm so sorry dude. I hope it all goes well. Lemme know if you need any support!

- You could be allergic to dust mites. I have a really bad dust mite allergy as a kid, and even now it's still pretty atrocious. I suggest getting dust mite covers for your mattress and pillows, and giving the existing bedding (including covers) a thorough wash and seeing if that helps.
- Staying up all night with racing thoughts punctuated only by my housemate's cats throwing themselves at my bedroom door or rearranging the contents of the laundry.

- That makes way more sense, haha. I couldn't get my mind to separate them, and I was so confused by the combination of the use of electrons specifically with the trig that I just couldn't get past them being somehow related, and was excited for the potential of an equation I didn't know about, haha
- [Not loaded yet]
- What's the importance of the trig functions though? That's what that really had me stumped. Why pull out wave functions for electrons if you're just explaining galvanising? You can just leave it as 2e- So unless the emission information of the electrons is important I don't see why they're included
- [Not loaded yet]
- Yeah I hope so! That top equation is throwing me. There's a Copper ion in -2 oxidation (with some subscript?) that when combined with 2 electrons becomes another oxidation form of Copper, probably pure copper? I'm just not sure what this is for, and why the subscript and care for the election state
- This is out of my computer engineering wheelhouse, it looks like someone is creating a connection between chemistry and mathematics. The mention of electrons specifically and the existence of trig here may mean this is something about electron orbitals? You genuinely might have found IRL alchemy
- Like here for instance, Magnesium Dioxide with 4 Hydrogen free radical atoms have a reversible equilibrium reaction to form Magnesium and 2 water atoms, as well as 2 free electrons? I can't say this is any chemistry I'm familiar with past the symbols.

- I'm more of a "beautiful melancholy" kinda person. I love the yearning for the lost or missed, which does get me a little welled up occasionally. "Music that makes you cry" is usually because of a personal attachment or connection, but perhaps this will be up your alley: youtu.be/9VNfZwvuyBA?...

- Yeah! They're a huge amount of fun. @aquaticas.net and I have been playing through them, we haven't gotten to the DLC of Rise (which came out 2 days ago), but damn some of the logic is DEVIOUS. It's such a fun pure detective game. I'd also suggest The Roottrees are Dead and A Hand With Many Fingers

- Is this for a uni? Or some course elsewhere? You could complain to the education host.
- You then have to wonder like... How much of the course content was also generated?

- If you open for slots again I'd be happy to take a re-run on the magician if it's still free ;>
- Yeah haha. I think at the end of the day, this solution is easy to understand and change if need be. If later on you find that it's a problem, that's when you look for fixes. I'm trying to teach myself the habit of accepting that not everything needs to be the most optimal solution out of the gate.
- The most important thing is that you have a working piece of software that does the thing you want it to. Plus, something like this is very unlikely to be a performance/functional bottleneck.
- [Not loaded yet]
- I think you are doing it right, as you need to rotate around each axis. There MIGHT be a better method, but it requires doing a fair whack of matrix math, and honestly I think the code reads better without having to do that yourself. Even then you're more likely to run into problems IMO.

- Overriding the forces physics processing is an impressive way to handle it! Gets you much closer to the metal. For the comment about the torque, have you tried "add_torque" or playing around with impulses?
- [Not loaded yet]
- Thanks! We're currently looking at a rebuild to take it from "game jam game" to something releasable. There is a lot of work to do through, and we're looking at a pretty sizeable upgrade. Just plugging through all the systems stuff now, and it's a bit of a slog.
- [Not loaded yet]
- I'd definitely be keen to hear more about it!

- I'm using Godot too for game stuff! I'd be keen to hear how you got the physics to feel right. I've been working on more character action-oriented games, (see: tallow-wren.itch.io/yourpartysucks) but I have had an idea for a wipeout-like at the back of the brain and I'm keen to see how this goes!
- My Wipeout senses are tingling. What did you build this in?

- Yeah this is the classic patriarchal bias informed by the inherent assumption that "Male" or "Masculinity" is the norm, and femininity is the deviation. It's why AFAB NB and trans men aren't targeted as hard. They're not "deviating", they're "closer to correct".

- I have gotten two different people Huions as presents and they've had nothing but good things to say for them. I definitely think people need to start checking out non-mainstream options for more tech things, including both Software and Hardware. There are many cool options just off the beaten path!

- They tend to like things they can sell to a wider fanbase through relation, or put into a clickbait title. Like comparing to another popular franchise. Market it as "The Next TTRPG you need to play while waiting for Silksong" or something haha.

- Bluesky doesn't detract from links the same way twitter does, you can just put it in the main post and it'll be more likely to get clicks there.

- If you'd want someone to chat to about it I'd be happy to help! I did Comp Eng at uni and I've played a bit with Godot. I'm still early on my Game dev journey but I can give some pointers!
- [Not loaded yet]
- I'd be keen to see how you lay things out. Godot leans itself to supporting very hierarchical structures IMO, but I'd love to see how other people put things together!

- All good! Usually relegating all the stuff you need to load into its own scene is useful, but also don't be afraid to load stuff into memory and leave it there if you intend to use it again and again.
