- The DEA National Take Back is this Saturday. Everyone is encouraged to take any unwanted, unused or expired pills to a take back site near you. This effort will promote public safety by reducing risks for overdoses, as well as protecting our ground water from pills.

- I joined with the Progressive Women’s Caucus to introduce a 10-bill package aimed at creating pay equity in Michigan. For every $1 earned by men of all ethnic backgrounds, women of all ethnic backgrounds averaged just 84 cents.

- This weekend - Feb. 15-16 - is Michigan DNR’s Free Fishing Weekend. All fishing license fees will be waived for two days. Residents and out-of-state visitors may enjoy fishing on both inland and Great Lakes waters for all species of fish. All fishing regulations will still apply.
- Gov. Whitmer signed 2 bills into law to expand contraception access for Michiganders. My bill, HB 5435, would require insurers to cover prescriptions for hormonal contraceptives prescribed and dispensed at in-network pharmacies. My colleague, Rep. Kara Hope, sponsored HB 5446.
- Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed legislation into law that will improve maternal and infant health outcomes. This 10-bill package addresses maternal mortality rates, which disproportionately impact mothers of color.
- Gov. Whitmer signed into law HBs 4095-96 sponsored by myself and my colleague, Rep. Ranjeev Puri, that requires the Michigan State Police to create and for schools to adopt a "standardized response terminology plan" for responses to situations that occur in or at school buildings.
