- My favorite piece of spam graffiti in East Harlem is on the wall at drive through at the a White Castle on 1st Ave that reads: “Christ Is King?” The question mark sends me every time I go past it. I keep trying to imagine the tagger’s thought process and cannot come up with a single cogent scenario.
- I really wanted to like the movie Afraid. Forgivable spottiness in acts I and II. Wheels come flying off in act III. Feels like it was itself written by AI: Solid understanding of form, lots of good premises, none that were original or particularly insightful.
- One thing that consistently blows my mind about NYC is how much good stuff we have because a small group of people insist on making the city more livable and fun. I never thought about it before; I just kind of assumed that the Greenmarkets always existed like where I grew up. RIP.
