A lot of folks replying to this desperate for info on moving to Canada.
Americans need to be realistic about this:
We don’t have the homes or healthcare to support a huge influx of people. We have space, but neither the infrastructure nor resources.
In fact, we have clamped down on immigration.
So I figured I’d go ahead and formally announce this: I’m moving out of Texas to be up in Canada where it’s safer for me.
Moving is expensive. I’m putting together a stream with friends on Monday, May 12 in order to raise money to help with it.

It’s also expensive to get into Canada. The cost of living is high here.
It’s important to recognize that the USA has literally 9x the population of Canada.
We logistically cannot be your exit plan.
The reality is, many people saw this coming & jumped on it, so wait lists are into years by now.
There are careers and jobs that are attractive to Canada — and will be even more so once the new government’s plans go into place.
Trades, healthcare, sciences — these are some of the key careers that are desirable here.
Immigrating is HARD. It takes a lot of research.

There are other complications like the Safe Third Country treaty that limits refugee claims from America, which a lot of Canadians want to see us change, because we know we will need to accept refugees — we must.
But right now international agreements prevent our being able to do that.
You can look into EXPRESS ENTRY VISAS, but they’re backed up.
If you’re in a high-demand career, particularly healthcare, apply with recruitment companies in multiple provinces and regions.
EVERYONE wants to come to BC — so look at Saskatchewan or Yukon or Newfoundland, etc. & increase your odds.

Immigrate through Express Entry
Immigrate to Canada as a skilled worker through Express Entry. Check eligibility, fees, documents, rounds of invitations, and steps for applying.
And if you’re trans and terrified — I’m so sorry — you may have to wait until we can get some loopholes to accept trans refugees.
