- OK, this has been bugging me. That resonator cone cover surely wouldn't have been made of silver!
- silver plated
- Maybe. I don't know a lot about the construction techniques used at the time. Modern ones are chromed steel, though.
- Was on a call with an academic about this recently—AI breaches the trust with the audience. The audience is here because of a process that lets us fully explain how we got from A to Z with every word in a story. Break that chain of knowledge, break that trust, break the truth, break your business.
- Otter.AI is great for transcription and that’s about it (and that’s mainly because the “click on this word to play audio here” makes triple checking your quotes so easy).
- but speech recognition software could already do this (i.e. produce a transcript that's 90-95% correct, then play audio along so you can correct words on the fly) twenty years ago, LLMs add nothing useful
- even if we accept "a lot of the left holds a true belief because of groupthink rather than careful examination of the evidence" for the sake of argument, "the left should be more open to demonstrably false belief" is not a correct counterbalance!
- We could have already had this, mandated by regulation in every school, hospital, office, business, and public building and funded by massive federal grants, two to three years ago at the latest, if as a society we'd had the will
- A new study shows that air cleaners can reduce up to 98,1 % of viral load in the air of a #COVID patient's room with confirmed positive airborne viral RNA. Rooms with HEPA ventilation had zero virus detected. 👏 #CleantheAir in hospitals and schools!👏 www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
- man if we still had laws and a constitution and an emoluments clause and stuff that'd probably be a pretty big deal
