FBPE. Generally genial. Still learning as I go. Check out my web site - seanconnorswrites.com
Best review from Jaden `This book is brilliant! Just as good as Harry Potter - but without the magicʼ. 🤣
- Dictators meticulously craft their public image, manipulating media and propaganda to appear as infallible idols. This cult of personality is crucial for maintaining power, as it blinds citizens to their oppressive actions and stifles dissent. Break the illusion, question the narrative. #3E

- Is this for real. Reminiscent of a different time and place. I read once about WW2 - One generation to sacrifice One generation to remember One generation to forget! What is USA coming to?
- Bosses of England hospitals that spend too much or treat too few will not get pay rise. Populist claptrap, not real analysis. NHS lacks capacity, staff. Discharging patients prematurely and subsequent readmission boosts treatment stats but is dangerous and achieves nothing. Fund the NHS.
- Went through this recently. Discharged too soon. Readmitted within three days. Kept in for 4 days while waiting for angio. Ward was hellish. 2 cardio patients with post op complications, 4 end of life - one on 24h cpap - one elderly dementia. Two deaths. Got discharged and had angio 2 weeks later.
- Jesus wept! And still they follow him. If I could bottle the stink that makes him so appealing, I could pay for my own 747.🫢
- The EU-UK pre-summit negotiations are getting spicy ahead of Monday summit — EU member states digging in on mobility and fish, UK trying (and failing) to lobby capitals over Commisson’s head. Some trenchant briefings to me @andybounds.bsky.social and @georgewparker.bsky.social on.ft.com/4jVUMSF
- In the EU, the word 'Union' is the defining term. Trying to divide and conquer is precisely what the union was formed to prevent. Ah, well... God loves a trier, they say.

- "What need you, being come to sense, But fumble in a greasy till And add the halfpence to the pence And prayer to shivering prayer, until You have dried the marrow from the bone" The theme of shopkeeper applied to Irish by WBY. We aspire to better things. The EU was a gateway to our generation
- Great thread on Labour v tory v reform narrative. Labour need to wise up to this. Their PR is rubbish and their messaging is absolutely dreadful. They are fighting an info war against populism in a tabloid world. Time to wake up to it.
- 22 Reform Councillors have already quit because they never wanted to be elected. Each one costs £10,000 as an election has to take place to replace them. All these bills need to be paid by Nigel Farage as he owns the Reform UK company.
- Does this cost them a majority anywhere?

- Kent was not well run anyway. If reform do it better, they will become deeply entrenched and hard to remove. They kept farage in EU for 20 years while he did literally nothing for them. It's not a wish, it's accepting reality. Alba abú!

- Nonsense? 15 years ago, the torys inherited a national debt of £750b. They left government with a national debt approaching £3T. Having an 'independent' Central Bank allows this access to easy money. They could print what they wanted. It couldn't happen if adhering to the rules of EMU/ERM.

- Scotland alone would have a better chance of meeting the Euro criteria but UK? Without access to their own central bank, they couldn't pass a budget.
