I don't see how the US can win a trade war against China - in any scenario. China isn't a democracy - there's no opposition, and it produces far more of what America needs than anything Chinese import from the USA. Their biggest import is soy beans... presumably can get elsewhere

We’re surely approaching tariff levels at which US-China trade slows to a trickle and any further tariff hikes would have a negligible marginal impact on US-China trade volumes.
