- Just got an exclusive first look at Netflix’s Star Search reboot:

- THE LIBRARIANS ARE GETTING ANOTHER CHAPTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- #ThePitt Season 1 to Air on TNT Ahead of Season 2 Premiere on HBO Max
- You can't make this up: Less than five minutes after I posted this, Warner Bros. Discovery sent along an embargo announcing that, later this summer, Max will be rebranded as... HBO Max. Get excited!
- Let’s imagine that, one day in the not-so-distant future, #Max is rebranded as… #HBO. How would #WBD distinguish between current Max Originals — #Hacks, #ThePitt — that are exclusive to streaming, and HBO Originals — #TheLastOfUs, #TheWhiteLotus — that air on the premium cable network?
- The audience at #WBDUpfront was *laughing* when this was announced by Casey Bloys. And Warner fully expected it. They even provided a meme to accompany the press release:
- And you can watch the “time is a flat circle” show on the new HBO Max!

- Perhaps the solution is just airing everything on cable. HBO would program former streaming exclusives on Thursday nights — their typical day of release. What you can’t do is just call streaming exclusives HBO Originals. That leads to consumer confusion (eg, FX on Hulu, Paramount+ With Showtime).
- Assumed NBC would eventually acquire and air this in the summer. Or that it’d wind up on Peacock. I would not have guessed The CW.
- Also, just “Law & Order: Toronto” would’ve sufficed.
- This Head and the Heart album is such a fine return to form. Possibly my favorite since their debut?

- Yeah, if you liked their first couple albums, you’ll enjoy this one.
- Now that you’ve watched the #WillTrent finale, you’re probably wondering what happens next. I’ve got early Season 4 intel, courtesy of co-showrunners Liz Heldens and Daniel Thomsen, now up at @tvline.com:
- It’s true that Andor ends tonight, but one day, we’ll get a new Star Wars show called Ifthen.
- Assuming this was the prequel?
- There’s been a lot of news out of Upfronts here in NYC. To help keep track of what the “Big 4” networks have in store for the 2025-26 TV season, how about a single 🧵 detailing everything we’ve reported over the last several days on @tvline.com? Sound good? Cool, let’s go!

- The absolute worst Upfront bit I’ve ever seen (or heard) involving the Manning Bros. Consider yourself lucky.

- He roasts the other networks and their programming slates every year. It's tradition.
- Kimmel on Dick Wolf's #CIA: "It’s a show about two partners, both law enforcement. One of them is very by-the-book, but the other one — this is where it gets crazy — doesn’t play by the rules. He plays by his own rules. I know. This is why the writers had to go on strike to stop A.I." #DisneyUpfront
- As an industry, we've gotta stop posting screen grabs of press releases. If you're a journalist, and you're not writing up a piece of news, link to a publication you like that has.
- May it never change. It’s iconic.
- Fox Upfront sizzle reel starting with a smirking Greg Gutfeld was... a choice.

- I think they showed The Paper trailer and blocked it.
- Perhaps they're doing what Disney Upfront does, and blocking some parts for those of us not in the room?
- Just occurred to me that How I Met Your Father wasn’t on long enough to do a “Not a Mother’s Day” episode. #HIMYM

- Bloodbath at NBC today. Blame the NBA.

View full threadGood question. NBC has an 11-year deal that gives them a Tuesday night game (beginning in October) and a Sunday night game (post-NFL, early 2026). So, come fall, they lose three hours of primetime real estate, where they would’ve presumably plugged The Voice and two hours of scripted.
- Then, you have to figure two hours of #TheVoice on Mondays, Wednesday is #OneChicago, and two out of three Thursday hours belong to #LawAndOrder. There’s also an hour of comedy — #HappysPlace and #StDenisMedical — so they really only have two hours to left to fill: Mondays and Thursdays at 10.

- I don’t suppose hearing this would help?
- If kidnapped, what would you post that would alarm your followers without the kidnappers knowing you're asking for help? “I never did care for the television program ER.”
- Coming this fall:
- If NBC wasn’t handing three hours of primetime real estate over to the NBA this fall, would Dick Wolf be fast-tracking Chicago Pope? Discuss. #OneChicago

- Not quite the image I was imagining but it’ll do.
- Resisting the urge to use AI to mock up a poster for Chicago Pope starring Mandy Patinkin that would look a lot like a poster for Chicago Hope. Only there’s a pope. A Chicago pope.
