- Be honest. The issue really is religion. But in much of Europe the issue with refugees is also skin color.
- The South Africans inherited land their ancestors stole from Africans and are being asked to give the land back or compensate the descendants of those the land was stolen from. That's called justice, not discrimination. But Trump thinks they are victims because they are white Christians. Sad!
- So Trump is rescuing white South Africans from a completely imaginary genocide and completely ignoring an actual genocide in Gaza where Israel is actively bombing and starving the population, most children, to death.
- Yep! That's Trump at his finest. Tells you a lot about his values and his upbringing.

The Constitution (Article 1, Sec 9, Cl 9) says in part "And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust...shall, without the Consent of Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office or title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince or foreign nation."
- The Statue of Liberty was given as a gift to the Nation by France, not to any individual, and so was not subject to the restrictions contained in the Constitution. Let's not fall for the blather of the MAGA crowd over on X trying desperately to justify the FOTUS' grift.

- To be clear - even the city of Nashville has no proof anyone ICE has arrested was a violent criminal or a gang member. (And due process is a thing) All anyone has is ICE’s word, backed up by @GovBillLee & Blackburn. Maybe the media could point that out instead of parroting their talking points?
- But parroting the official line is easier and safer than asking questions those in power don't want to answer. Journalism in this country is largely dead, especially in the traditional media.

- A clearly amateur negotiator who has used bankruptcy to get out of deals he negotiated. And he has surrounded himself with people who aren't much better. It's all about the hype, not the reality, and the media duly laps it up.
