- Russia struck a civilian airplane with a missile, denied multiple emergency landing requests from pilots at nearby Russian airports, redirected them to Kazakhstan across the Caspian Sea, jammed their communication systems, aiming to ensure the plane, along with all evidence, would be lost at sea.
