Every time one original movie is successful, people seem to forget all the other original movies that fail and all the other non original movies that are successful.
My mom would sacrifice everything to save me and my brother.

That’s how I’m seeing Grace’s perspective.
This has absolutely nothing to do with “defending” non Black women.

Yes. But my point is that her point of view was not questionable and people acting like it was are being goofy.
The horror genre is propelled by otherwise decent people making terrible decisions. That is the genre. If Grace didn’t open the door, then someone else would have done something similarly questionable to move the plot along.
That is how horror stories have been told since the beginning of time.
The long and short of it.
It’s no more than an understandable motivation than a typical horror movie would give for a character “doing something dumb.”
Protect mode overrode “logic.”

Im not saying Grace was the hero. I just don’t agree that she was the villain or even intended to be the villain.
