Congressman Jared Moskowitz
Father, husband, sneaker head, and Congressman for Florida’s 23rd Congressional District.
- I’ve signed onto a petition in the House to force a vote that would protect Medicaid and food assistance programs, which are lifelines for millions of Floridians. If House Republicans claim their budget doesn’t slash these programs, they should have no problem taking this vote.
- Yesterday, I had my final Youth Cabinet meeting for the 2024-25 school year. Thank you to all the students who’ve participated and represented their generation so well. And congrats to those graduating, who I know will continue to be outstanding leaders in their communities!
- This reckless plan rips lifesaving healthcare away from millions of people who depend on Medicaid in red and blue areas alike, including more than 90,000 people in my district alone. Doesn’t sound like making America healthy to me.
- I am thankful that Edan Alexander, kidnapped 583 days ago by Hamas terrorists, can now finally return to his loved ones — but it is unconscionable that Hamas continues to prolong the pain of the remaining hostages and their families. Every hostage must be released now.
- Happy National Police Week! I’m committed to ensuring our brave law enforcement officers get the resources they need to keep us all safe. Thank you for your service to our communities.
- Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing moms out there, especially my wife Leah! Thank you for everything you do.
- Are you interested in being nominated for a service academy or know someone who is? My office, along with teams from Rep. Frankel, Rep. Cherfilus-McCormick, and @wassermanschultz.house.gov, will host an Academy Day on May 17th to help FL students learn how to apply to these top-notch schools. 🇺🇸
- Since 1980, the US has faced more than 400 disasters costing $1 billion+. Failing to track those will hurt our preparedness and cost both money and safety. Hurricane season begins in less than a month. We need NOAA’s data to assess the trends and plan for future emergencies.
- NEW: NOAA retires its widely cited billion-dollar weather and climate database amid staff cuts. Unique database had been tallying disaster costs for 45 years. www.cnn.com/2025/05/08/c...
- Had a great meeting with the Ambassador of The Bahamas, Wendall Jones. The Bahamas are an ally of the United States and a close neighbor to South Florida, and I’m committed to strengthening the relationship between our nations from my post at @houseforeign.bsky.social.
- Happy National #SmallBusinessWeek! Small businesses are the backbone of America’s economy, and I’m working every day in Congress to support an economy where ingenuity and entrepreneurship can thrive.
