- Really important essay from Petra Laiti on colonial names, problems with the term #Lapland and Sápmi. I especially appreciate the suggestions for alternative names for areas in Northern Finland that are not part of Sápmi - something that has been on my mind. Strongly recommended reading!
- If you only know the colonial name #Lapland, you’ll have a very hard time finding accurate information about Saami People. Instead, you will learn to use a name that contains a racial slur for the people whose land you unknowingly stand on. petralaiti.com/2025/01/14/w...
