I'm old enough to remember when polio ripped through the globe and put my friends into iron lungs.
We dutifully lined up at school to get vaccinated. We eradicated the disease. We protected the common good and saved lives.

I, too, remember lining up and going through an assembly line getting all of the vaccinations. Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Polio, Smallpox, Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis, all at once. I'm 66 and have never had any serious illness.
Those pesky eradicated diseases, sheesh. Mankind can't get a break. We should just give up, and let the chips fall where they may.

So, 2 have died out of 220 in the west Texas infection cluster, or about 0.9%. Therefore, if everybody gets measles, that's 3 MILLION dead. Very rough epidemiology, but clearly he hasn't even thought about it even this casually
