It's pretty hilarious how many trucks have a functionally smaller bed than the available cargo space in my van.
Taller, heavier, worse fuel economy, more expensive, etc. What's not to love about most trucks?!
Big tires and ground clearance for potholes though. 😆
I currently have a retractable screen door in my SUV. Fits just fine 👍🏼 This car can handle way more than some stupid lifted tiny 🍆 mobile.
One van never sees the seats up, it's mostly my wife and I, two cats and cargo. BUT, in my Long Wheel Base, I moved a Fridge and a Deep Freeze in the same load. If I can't get it inside, there's roof racks. I do have a truck but it's tiny, it holds a sheet of plywood. Just.
I don’t have the gear needed to use my roof racks, so that’s not an option. I just have to have a mildly uncomfortable 10 minute drive from Costco home. But my car can hold an unbelievable amount of shit. I’m sure I could get a deep freeze in it pretty easily
I broke the windshield in two vans, taking long lumber, resting on the dash, if you put on brakes suddenly, it keeps going, that was one windshield. I carry poly twine, that thin yellow twine at the Dollarama. Pretty strong, and to keep things in place, I keep a package of extra long zip ties.
May 11, 2025 14:21I don’t have the cross bars on my roof racks, so nothing to tie down to. I might have to actually look at how they are made to see what I can rig up.
