- Yeah they're agender and they're very cool.

- No they definitely have a soul. Just no gender. I checked.

- I have a friend who doesn't have a gender. I should let them know that they share that attribute with god.
- NEW: The VA is establishing an "anti-Christian bias" task force and asking VA employees to submit any instances they witness of anti-Christian bias in the Dept to Christianbiasreporting at va dot gov. They are seeking the following examples.

- I think you've misunderstood what she's saying. She's saying that trans women should use the women's room and trans men should use the men's room. As a trans woman, that is something I agree with.

- Some women are lesbians. Some women are transgender. Some are neither. Some are both. Who you *are* and who you *love* are independent of one another.

- There's OpenCV2. The cv::imread function can load most image formats, but it requires a bit of messing about to get it into an RGBA array.

- I agree that is the intent of Title IX. You will notice that the creation of exclusively women's teams is not a part of that intent.
- [Not loaded yet]
- Can you point out what contradicts my position? My position is that an institution can provide two teams, both of which technically allow both sexes to compete, and be in compliance with Title IX.
- [Not loaded yet]
- Title IX only ever expands opportunities. It doesn't prohibit anybody from playing on any team. Source for quotes: www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/45/...

- "No person shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, be treated differently from another person or otherwise be discriminated against in [...]athletics offered by a recipient, and no recipient shall provide any such athletics separately on such basis."

- Title IX requires equal opportunity for women and men in college sports. It was created because women did not have the same benefits as men. It does not require or encourage the creation of separate leagues. Individuals competing in the wrong league does not usurp Title IX's purpose or integrity.

- They actually do mention it (dismissively). "Upton's complaint also alleged that on another occasion Peggie left a seriously ill patient when the doctor appeared in the cubicle, a claim that Peggie denies."
- Major news! A court in Montana has just declared SB458, a bill that "defines sex" in a way that ends the legal recognition of transgender people in Montana, as facially unconstitutional. This is the first time a bill defining sex has been ruled on! Huge win for trans people in MT!
- [This user deactivated their account]
- Oh! That explains it. Without the broader context the "you only think about trans women" part didn't make sense to me.
- [This user deactivated their account]
- She doesn't mention women at all except in a direct quote from the ruling. Two-spirit, transgender, and intersex people were all united as plaintiffs in this case. Still, we should highlight two-spirit and especially intersex people as they were crucial to the judge's reasoning.
- It is shameful that RAINN, representing sexually abused people, erased trans people because they are scared of Trump. To any org censoring themselves: you cannot jettison trans to save yourself. Yes, if you don't, other groups may suffer, and you might too. But we are all in this together.
- (Content Warning) The Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network has apparently also removed references to trans people and trans survivors of rape from their webpages. The quoted webpage had stories of trans survivors of sexual assault web.archive.org/web/20241121...
- This is so sad. I found another page where trans people were erased. There's two horizontal lines after the "men and boys" section. Between those lines is where the "trans students" section once was. rainn.org/statistics/v...

- I'm having trouble understanding this one. Are the ideas "I dislike being mistaken for straight" and "I dislike being compared to cis men" connected? Are you saying being incorrectly seen as straight leads to people assuming you're a bad person?

- Yes it's working now! Thank you!
- Great tool. That was so fast! Two suggestions: 1. Set spellcheck="false" on the editor so the built-in browser spellchecking doesn't confuse users. 2. On Firefox, adding spaces is broken. I was able to kind of get it working by adding the "white-space: pre-wrap;" CSS directive, but it's still weird.

- There's no need for personal attacks on me. I am not "selfish", "myopic", "stupid", or "harmful". I just want trans kids to get their legally protected healthcare.
- [This account was taken down by their PDS (Bluesky PBC)]
- The AG is helping the trans kids by ensuring they have access to healthcare! Completely ignoring the executive order is the only "right thing" and any hospital that is following it cannot be described as any kind of "ally".
- [This account was taken down by their PDS (Bluesky PBC)]
- If there was an executive order saying "hospitals must stab people in their care or lose federal funding", any hospital that started stabbing people would be punished for breaking the state anti-stabbing laws. Any hospital breaking anti-discrimination laws should be punished for breaking the law.

- He's mainly targeting under-19s. He's trying a bunch of different tactics including: withdrawing federal funding, suing GAC providers, getting agencies to fabricate bad science. It's a real shotgun approach. Most of it probably isn't going to work, but might mean providers are hesitant to prescribe.

- This is my first non-response skeet so sorry if this isn't the kind of thing you were expecting when you followed.
- I made this because I love learning new things. QR codes are full of fun things to learn: error correcting codes, character encodings, and a little Japanese to read JIS X 0510. I also made a custom GIF, PNG, and SVG encoder so that the output files are small.
- You won't believe this. My team and I make this show called SciShow that works hard to be rigorous and accurate while also being appealing and entertaining. We reach a LOT of people every year with episodes about crabs and neutrinos and gender and cancer and vaccines. It's great, I love it.
- I appreciate the response to the HRT video others linked. I hope a revised version gets made because most of it was very good with just a few dangerous bits mixed in. I've signed up to the SciShow Patreon to support.

- A strong defense is a good personal contribution. But no matter how much you personally do, you can't change the reputation of an entire group. A white person doing a good thing doesn't change the fact that white people generally create and enforce systems of discrimination.

- Right now we're quite justifiably scared and panicking. We're flailing around in the water to keep our heads above the surface, and some of the splash from that has landed on you. I'm sorry for that. I don't think you have an obligation to prove yourself or cis people. We do appreciate help though.
- Weird that we have to say this, but the government doesn’t get to decide what gender a person is.
- [Not loaded yet]
- Entirely agree with you here. To be clear I don't accept her definition, but I do understand where she is coming from. It can be hard to accept the mutability of sex if you haven't personally lived through it. I don't want us to dog-pile this woman because her understanding is incomplete.
- [Not loaded yet]
- Agreed that this administration is coming for us all. We will need to stand together against them. That's why I really don't want us to fight over something silly like a word.

- Do you think there could be a standing issue? The EO has a 30 day delay before it takes effect on new births. Do we need to wait for one of those births to have a plaintiff, or is a prospective parent enough?
- [Not loaded yet]
- From your perspective, "trans people" would be a subset of "biological non gender conforming people". I read them as being distinct groups since you listed both. I probably jumped the gun here because "biological" is a part of the transphobic vocabulary routinely used against people like me. Sorry.
- [Not loaded yet]
- Not a dig on you at all. I like your posts. But I found it interesting to observe how the word "biological" has become so synonymous with "cisgender" that it ends up in places where it doesn't make sense. Trans people are also biological people. All people are biological as far as I know.
