In her essay in "Five Manifestos for the Beautiful World", right after her 5th thesis,
"The subjunctive is the smuggler who crosses he border of the future bearing unknown cargo",
Cristina Rivera Garza cites the poem "Summer Vacation in the Subjunctive" by Ashley M. Jones.

Five Manifestos for the Beautiful World by Phoebe Boswell, Saidiya Hartman, Janaína Oliveira, Joseph M. Pierce and Cristina Rivera Garza | Penguin Random House Canada
Five Alchemists. One book. A constellation of ideas.

"What the subjunctive lacks in programmatic rigor or positive calls for action, it affords.. in terms of strategies—pausing, questioning, meandering, walking backwards—to affect the yet to come.."
