TL;DR The defining theme of Trump 2.0 has been screwing over communities like ours to benefit the wealthiest 0.1% of Americans.  Trump’s budget shows that the next year (and in all likelihood the next four) will be more of the same. Okay, now let’s get into it.

Hudson Valley kids deserve to drink clean water.  For decades, GE dumped toxins into the Hudson River – which more than 100,000 people in #NY18 rely on for drinking water.  Trump cut $254M from the program leading the cleanup & $2.46B in clean water infrastructure overall.

Hudson Valley veterans deserve quality health care.  Trump’s VA closed 20 in-patient substance abuse beds at Castle Point.  Now, he’s cutting $1.65B from a substance abuse prevention initiative which includes programs SPECIFICALLY geared towards helping veterans.

Hudson Valley seniors deserve security in their golden years. But Trump is cutting: 674M for Medicaid/Medicare program management – making it harder to access benefits  $405M for helping low-income seniors find jobs $425M for ensuring seniors meet their daily nutritional needs

Every Hudson Valley family deserves a home they can afford AND the energy to keep that home warm & the lights on.  Trump is cutting $26.72 BILLION from state housing grants and ENDING the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, throwing millions out into the cold.

This is all happening while Trump is: ▪️Pushing record breaking tax cuts for the richest 0.1% of Americans ▪️ Paid for by hundreds of billions of dollars in cuts to SNAP & Medicaid While still adding trillions of dollars to the national debt!!!

I say it all the time.  More affordable, more safe, and more free.  That’s the Hudson Valley I want for your kids and for mine.

Hardworking families, able to afford a home.  Heroes who served in uniform, getting the health care they deserve. Children, free to drink clean water and breathe clean air.
