I grew up in the military, literally my whole family is military. I married a Vietnam vet. The second he came out with this completely insulting idea to everyone in the military, my blood began to boil. You just don't give traitors military parades on their birthdays. You just don't.

I am from a multiple generation family that served. Married into one that served. I served as a reservist. I cannot agree more. But, we do need parades....for our teachers who go to battle every day for our kids and do so with diminishing resources and little, to no, fanfare or thanks.

I got a safe draft lottery number, and I don't fault anybody else for avoiding the evil stupid Vietnam War. My dad got drafted stateside during the Korean War, my FIL sent to CO camp. But Trump shouldn't now be holding a military parade celebrating his ability to send other people's kids to war.

Every single veteran I know would rather have a functional, well staffed VA than a parade. I have not heard a single vet speak out in favor of this.
