I once got to help write someone else's dream game for what was, to me, a lot of money. 10/10 would go back, learn more, do again

Even WITH pay, it's a big ask. Games take years, the pay is weaker than adjacent industries, and there's just so much instability. Their idea better be great enough for others to get personal fulfilment from the work because it might not even make it to the finish line. Games are a risky choice.

Legit, there has to be some financial incentives. At least offer me some royalty deal for 1% if you can't pay 🫠 (I say this as a man that went to college in Boston for game art and not making it my main job due to the market)
