- Personally, I totally agree with her. The "Supreme" court is a travesty. English authoritarianism and frankly a bunch of musty old Tories with zero understanding of social progress.
- They’re not there to understand social progress. They’re there to understand the law.
- The ruling was a legalistic travesty. And has been decried by people who actually drafted the EA itself.
- More fool them for drafting it poorly. As various legal scholars have pointed out, their intentions in drafting the law are irrelevant; what matters - and is the basis of the Supreme Court's ruling - is the law as written.
- They didn’t draft it poorly at all. The law as it is written does not mean what the SC wants it to mean. They had to jump through ridiculous hoops to try (and fail) to explain what the language used meant, and have bungled everything up because of their ridiculous mental gymnastics.
