The entire reason we have The Last Jedi is that Disney greenlit a trilogy without any clear idea of where to go after the first movie.
They produced a trilogy without a central committee or first among equals visionary to drive it and it shows
I don't really understand how that happened, just from an internal organization standpoint.
Massive overlearning on how the MCU pulled it off to make them believe they could hack together a story as they went? Total leadership failure at the least
But the MCU worked because Kevin Feige had a vision he was executing on! The lesson of the MCU isn't "multiple directors works" it's "all direction must be subservient to one person"
