- Just incredible
- Just so we’re all following 1) Elon spends ~$300M to elect Trump 2) Trump gives him the federal government 3) Elon guts the agencies that regulate his companies 4) Trump holds an infomercial for Elon’s cars on the White House lawn 5) Elon gives Trump another $100M
- Since this tweet, the Dow is down, the Nasdaq is down, and the S&P 500 is down. Grocery prices are up and thousands of Americans have lost their jobs.
- There’s been a lot written about how evil they are, but lest we forget that they are also just really, really stupid
- Two of the most successful viral moments from elected Dems in the past couple days involve calling Elon a “dick boss” and calling Trump’s Deputy Chief “stupid.” There is a huge appetite among voters to see Democrats get in the mud and bring the fight to this admin. Lean into it.
- Trump before the election: “When I win, I will immediately bring prices down starting on day one.” Trump tonight: “Inflation is back.”
- The idea that the grassroots anti-Trump resistance is “demoralized” or “depressed” has been overstated. You may not see it on Musk’s Twitter, but protests are growing and liberal engagement on more “normie” platforms like Facebook has been skyrocketing since January 20th.
- During the campaign, Trump promised to “end inflation” starting “on day one.” Now he’s saying his tariffs are going to raise prices and cause Americans “pain.”
- The guys putting a Fox host in charge of the military, a January 6 supporter in charge of the FBI, and an anti-vax quack in charge of the health department are lecturing everyone on having “the best standards in who you’re hiring”
- You have to give them credit, the Trump administration is committed to both horribly evil policy AND being chaotically incompetent. Impressive double tasking
- Trump’s top pollster Tony Fabrizio says “the digital stuff [the Harris campaign] was doing with Project 2025 was amazing” and had them very “alarmed.” Now we’re seeing why they were so worried about their plans being exposed.
- Apparently the “the Golden Age of America” consists of surging egg prices, going after health care for tens of millions, letting violent criminals out of jail, and halting cancer research. Historic stuff indeed
- Trump: “Starting on day one of my new administration, we will end inflation.” Now egg prices are up, gas prices are up, and he revoked an executive order to lower prescription drug prices.
- Trump promised lower costs and lower crime and all we’ve gotten so far are soaring egg prices and 1,500 criminals let out of jail
- Does anyone remember if we’ve had a president before who suppressed critical information about an emerging virus, leading to an economic catastrophe? Asking for a friend
- Bluesky is great, but if we’re not also spreading the word on other platforms, a lot of people are going to be left in the dark. Starting a TikTok page to do just that: www.tiktok.com/@parkerpbutler
- Trump’s FBI Director nominee Kash Patel said he will prosecute and jail Americans who Trump deems “the enemy”: “We will go out and find the conspirators... Yes, we are going to come after the people in the media”
- Donald Trump is not immune from political gravity. An important reminder for the weeks and months ahead.
- Trump just nominated Brendan Carr to be in charge of the FCC. Brendan Carr wrote the FCC chapter in Project 2025. Project 2025 was always Trump’s plan. We were warned.
- I’m just gonna say it, there was never a long-form tweet that was worth reading
