- Many builders use a combination of American steel and foreign steel depending on how quickly they want the project done! Not sure what you mean the cheaper option, when there’s many companies that use American steel .
- Cost analysis has many factors. If the foreign steel take three extra months to get and the factory makes millions per month, it may end up "cheaper" on net to take the faster, more expedient steel, getting operational faster. But usually, they just buy the cheapest steel and wait.
