- May 11, 1996: This shot by John Starks of the Knicks during Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against Chicago. Starks finished with 30 PTS/6 AST and Patrick Ewing had 22 PTS/13 REB/3 BLK in New York's 102-99 overtime win. Michael Jordan scored 46 PTS to lead the Bulls.
- May 7, 1978: The third installment of CBS Sports' "Three On Three" features Pat Boone "leading" David Thompson and Jerry Lucas to a win over Marvin Gaye, Phil Chenier and Zelmo Beaty.
- May 7, 1981: Boston's Larry Bird gets the steal and scores on a reverse layup during Game 2 of the NBA Finals. Bird finished with 19 PTS/21 REB/5 STL but the Celtics lost to Houston, 92-90. Moses Malone had 31 PTS/15 REB for the Rockets, who tied the series at 1-1.

- May 7, 1980: Philadelphia’s Bobby Jones with a chasedown block in Game 2 of the NBA Finals. Darryl Dawkins had 25 PTS and Maurice Cheeks had 23 PTS/10 AST/6 STL in the 76ers' 107-104 win that tied the series at 1-1. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar had 38 PTS/14 REB/5 BLK for the Lakers.
- May 7, 1994: Denver becomes the first 8 seed to defeat a 1 seed in an NBA playoff series with a 98-94 OT win over the Sonics in Game 5 of their first round series. Robert Pack had 23 PTS and Dikembe Mutombo added 15 REB/8 BLK for the Nuggets, who won three straight after trailing 0-2 in the series.
- May 7, 1986: Philadelphia's Charles Barkley forearms Paul Mokeski of the Bucks during Game 5 of the ECSF. Barkley—who finished with a game-high 29 PTS—was called for a personal foul. Paul Pressey had 23 PTS/16 AST/10 REB and Milwaukee won, 113-108, to take a 3-2 series lead.
- May 7, 1995: Orlando defeats Chicago, 94-91, in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Shaquille O'Neal had 26 PTS/12 REB and Nick Anderson scored 20 PTS (3-6 3P) to lead the Magic. Michael Jordan scored 19 PTS and Toni Kukoč had 17 PTS/9 REB/7 AST for the Bulls.
- May 7, 1981: Houston’s Moses Malone dunks on Boston’s Kevin McHale just before halftime in Game 2 of the NBA Finals. Malone had 31 PTS/15 REB for the Rockets in a 92-90 win that tied the series at 1-1. Larry Bird had 19 PTS/21 REB/5 STL for the Celtics.
