Today's Topic - Hope & Heroes in a world of gray.
There are many, uplifting, extraordinary happenstances that inspire us. At the same token, we find many folks we revere as heroes disappoint us from time to time. 1/

Some of the best avenues for this undertaking are community, teamwork, and empowerment.
We also draw inspiration from stories of resiliency and heroic feats, hopeful events, and scalable victories.
In these dark times, they are altogether coveted dearly. 3/
It's easy to romanticize hopeful events, heroic feats, and the people who achieve them.
Then when you learn more about whatever imperfect humans do--the whole shiny ray of awe becomes a fat wad of despair. 5/
Folks can end up on that rollercoaster of thrill & disappointment, right into the clutches of trollkin mindfuckery.
Life offers a lot of not terribly palatable situations--especially for any of us who grew up with Disney. 6/
Real heroes are not always the best people. Some of them have scumbaggery issues and vices. Some of them believe in borderline--not so great--ideology, or might not be as enlightened as you'd like.
Case Study 1 - Soon some folks are going to learn that EF ain't what she seems.
Was her townhall action heroic? - Yes!
Was her townhall question on point? - Yes!
Do you condone all her professions/activism? A lot of folks won't like EF's decisions and views. This is why she's a perfect example.
Case Study 2 - Cory Booker is phenomenal and has achieved a lot of historic, amazingly heroic feats.
When it comes to heroic character and personality, he ranks pretty high on that scale.

Then she does this, standing up for Veterans, which is cool:
