- Reposted by Mike SierackiNow it's nearly 270 university presidents who have signed onto this "unprecedented government overreach" public letter. It was less than 180 this morning. www.aacu.org/newsroom/a-c... Universities, and judges, taking the lead in standing up.
- Number is up just today, from 180 to around 240. University leaders, time to join in. www.aacu.org/newsroom/a-c...

- Reposted by Mike Sieracki🧪 Tip: You have the right to contest a grant termination, even though NSF says you don't. 🧵 On Friday, NSF terminated 402 grants (per Musk's DOGE). The notification letters had one of the most egregious violations of fed regulations I've seen so far in these cases: "not subject to appeal"
- Here's a copy of an NSF grant termination notice that went out today. "NSF is issuing this termination to protect the interests of the government pursuant...on the basis that they no longer effectuate the program goals or agency priorities." Not subject to appeal. #HigherEd #AcademicSky

- “In the meantime, according to sources, NSF will not make any new awards.” This violates the impoundments act.

- Reposted by Mike SierackiMr. Abrego Garcia was illegally abducted by the Trump Admin and, by their own admission, wrongly deported to El Salvador. He shouldn’t have to spend another second away from his family. I'm flying to El Salvador tomorrow morning to check on his condition and discuss his return.

- Glad to hear that the NSF pay portal is up again.
- Download all active NSF awards from the awards database in case they rescind awards.
- Reposted by Mike SierackiReiterating my call to fellow federally-funded scientists: Call your reps, tell them how this hurts science and everything good that comes from science (Also non-scientists, and scientists without federal funding! But the more of us who can directly speak to the impacts of these freezes the better)
- The National Science Foundation cancelled over 60 grant review panels today, effectively grinding funding of new projects to a halt. The so-far indefinite pause comes as NSF grapples with the impact Trump's executive orders will have on their grantmaking process. www.npr.org/sections/sho...
