  Another I feel is worth mentioning is Goonies II. It's literally an 8-bit version of Cyndi Lauper's The Goonies R Good Enough from the Goonies soundtrack. I also loved the gameplay.

    When your games got more cinematic, the music followed suit, too, even with 8-bit games. I still stand in awe of how the prologue theme from Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos has this progressively building menace to it that just *SCREAMS* Ennio Morricone.
