- Every time there's a new Superman movie I think about when the 1978 Superman movie came out, the Marvel comics people loved it and hyped it up even though Superman belongs to the Distinguished Competition, because it was just good to have something good.
- A lot of people with a lot of money looked at the one time in a few Americans' lives where people could just relax and think and walk around and read some books and decided "absolutely not." And now college is the same as everything else.
- Every few months I participate in normal America by eating at a chain restaurant or seeing news on the TV at an airport or hearing the radio while I get my oil changed and I've sort of hit my limit, no one should have to live like this, exposed to endless psychic damage, not even Americans

- I’ve never read LotR and I’m pretty sure I still understand LotR better than the author of this piece
- This is one of the most illiterate pieces of literary analysis and social commentary i've ever seen. You guys are Sauron you numpty. www.spectator.co.uk/article/the-...
- I always like The Spectator because the fadeout paywall feels exactly like walking away from someone unbearable at a party
- (unbearably smug tone) I've hated Josh The Phantom Menace since I first saw a tweet so dumb I called him Josh The Phantom Menace and he immediately blocked me on Twitter
