This is pretty much the case with any significant technological change. 140 years ago: "I'll admit, I don't understand a lot about automobiles, but what I do, I don't like. If they are supposed to replace horses, what do we do with the horses?"

So we’re gonna put the humans out to pasture?

Humans will find creative ways to use the technology. And what we consider "productive work" today will change. If you go back a hundred years and could tell them about jobs like "data analyst", they'd think it's strange. A hundred years further back, they'd think you're completely insane.
