- Databricks buys Neon to manage state for AI Agents, which wasn’t amongst the use cases I’d considered. Kudos to the Neon team building a great product. I frequently use it as a demo database for Coginiti. #databs
- Snowflake is adding a SQL pipe operator You can use the new pipe operator (->>) to chain SQL statements together. In the chain of SQL statements, the results of one statement can serve as the input to another statement. #databs #dontloveit
- Maybe I'm too affable but I'm always puzzled by the number of people who assume I dislike our competitors. I know many of the founders of our competitor companies and for the most part they're pretty decent people. Sure I'd like to see our product win more deals, but we're not actually at war.

- Enjoyed this technical writeup from Motif Analytics on their experience with DuckDB WASM as it mirrored much of our experience implementing DuckDB WASM in Coginiti. Our team implemented support for OPFS a few months ago and COI in the latest version. We can now spill up to 4TB in our local cache.

- Data.World getting acquired by ServiceNow I suspect we’ll continue to see more acquisitions this year as founders look for a home for their product and customers, but also expect some of the modern data stack companies to shutter as they run out of runway.
- Coginiti 25.4 is alive in the world with new charting capabilities, enhancements to our AI Assistant, and performance improvements such as predicate pushdown for direct query of Snowflake Iceberg tables. www.coginiti.co/blog/coginit...
- We had an internal discussion this week about how Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) replaces SEO, and though I don't yet understand it, we had our first customer referral come through ChatGPT.
- Amongst all the acquisitions Astronomer raises an eye watering 93m round D.
