Gray: for young men; why does the premier pretend she can't see the obvious conflict of interest?
Smith: the opposition can't see the difference from when we were elected and when they were in govt. People wouldn't move here if they didn't think there was opportunity and jobs.
Gray: public inquiry
Smith: everything is great now at AHS. The NDP didn't have the courage to solve anything. Current health minister did.
Gray: their handpicked CEO and board was fired because they were worried about criminal corruption; bloated contracts, etc; public inquiry.
Smith: we have
Smith: $15 million for new clinics -- that wouldn't have happened without this minister (it's not like she found $15 million for this, she just found a way to spend $15 million that this govt would support)
Eremenko: private hospitals
LaGrange: bill 55 is not about privatization it's about having
LaGrange: flexibility and regulations
Eremenko: no person may operate a private hospital but what about a person operating an approved hospital? They can discharge patients; will minister respect authority of healthcare workers?
LaGrange: nope; it's about letting them do their jobs.
LaGrange: we're committed to public healthcare
Eremenko: bill 55 picks up where bill 11 under Ralph Klein left off; will the govt learn from the PCs of old and scrap this bill?
LaGrange: we're doing more surgeries, with more doctors, and more nurses
Eggen: govt determined to ignore what Albertans
Eggen: want; CPP -- Albertans don't trust their money with this govt or this premier. Will they drop the campaigns to take over Albertans' CPP?
Horner: we will work for what is best for Albertans; we'd save so much money if we took it over. We didn't do anything with that.
Eggen: don't want UCP to
Eggen: sell off hospitals, chase off docs and nurses. Why is this govt pursuing American two-tiered healthcare?
LaGrange: members opposite incorrect; a four year high of doctors and nurse practitioners in Calgary and Edmonton (not rural though).
Eggen: instead of focusing on AB's priorities; this
Eggen: govt's decision to focus on provincial police, pension, and now to separate from Canada.
Horner: members opposite should think about their political allegiances in this country.

Petrovic: UCP doing great things for awareness of gender-based violence
Fir: awareness, prevention, early intervention; education for survivors, bystanders, young men and boys.
Petrovic: public safety campaigns are most useful
Ellis: public safety plays a critical role; (NDP made UCPs job
Ellis: harder).
Petrovic: shifting culture; how is ABs 10 yr strategy helping?
Turton: gender-based violence affect the whole family unit; prevention programs.
Haji: AB facing fastest growing measles outbreak in Canada; six times more than all western provinces combined.
www.msn.com/en-ca/health...LaGrange: we've been talking about vaccinations -- great work happening -- 150% increase in measles vaccinations.
(Congrats -- and regular immunization campaigns ensure it doesn't drop so much that 150% increases are a thing)
Haji: protecting Albertans
LaGrange: health minister was on the front page of Edmonton Journal once. We need to reach people where they're at (which thanks to UCP, is hesitant AF).
Guthrie: if transparency keeps politicians in check, would you agree that less is a problem?
Nally: we amended FOIP
Nally: we modernized it and brought in proactive disclosure; why wait until they ask?
Guthrie: changes in access to information act made it easier to ignore FOIP requests; Trudeau govt was accused of abuse of power for doing the same. Is this govt trying to hide something?
Nally: we recognize that
Nally: Albertans want access to information; it's about govt documents, not private political conversations
Guthrie: the liberals were accused of lack of transparency. This UCP govt is showing similar acts. Is this govt trying to hide?
Nally: we just needed to update it, that's all. There's no light
Nally: between that minister and ourselves; why charge them for information? We're going to publish them.
Guthrie: there's no rule about spouses lobbying govt. To the premier; has your spouse ever been a lobbyist for this govt?
Smith: I'm tired of rumour, innuendo and slander against my family
Smith: he owns a restaurant and has never been a lobbyist.
Guthrie: the premier's husband has never registered as a lobbyist, but given he has lobbied this govt as a "rail expert"; given this reeks of insider advantage. Is this govt just trying to benefit the select few?
Schow: repugnant
