i agree with this take, because
1) there needs to be more sex in movies, especially r-rated genre films. if you do the swearing, splosions, and fighting but NEVER the spicy stuff?? youre doin it wrong man
2) i just about broke the sound barrier buying the soundtrack to Sinners
I think an under discussed aspect of Sinners’ success is that the movies used to be a place you could go to see sex and music, probably the things human beings enjoy the most, and things that have been almost totally absent from most wide-release modern movies.
and like... soundtracks used to DOMINATE on the charts, selling millions and exerting outsized influence on the path of pop music. i'd be cool with getting that back..!!
May 14, 2025 01:56Oh Brother, Where Art Thou's soundtrack is a gateway into old American folk songs and Blue Grass.
I think more people bought the Josie and the Pussycats soundtrack than watched the movie 🤣 that soundtrack was too good…
also i just know we wouldn’t be wading through endless Dragula Rob Zombie memes if it weren’t so prominently on the Matrix soundtrack
I want movies to have theme songs again
