It is absolutely impossible to maintain a belief in meritocracy if you have ever actually been anywhere near any seat of supposedly earned power.
May 14, 2025 18:38The problem with meritocracy is that being too rich turns you into a complete idiot, so even if you started out competent, you end up turning into John McAfee eventually. So you can't reward competence very much or you ruin it.
The people forcing AI on their employees at most of these companies could probably be the ones most easily replaced by AI with the fewest problems caused by their absence.
