I don't think the Dems can stop the firings. But why aren't they proposing legislation that assures those that took the buyout get paid , and that all that are fired, get at least a year severance and health benefits? And any one with a health condition is covered the entire time they are sick?
Feb 20, 2025 18:21Are you listening to yourself? Pass a bill to spend money that we don't have to pay people not to work. No wonder you guys are so confused about why you lost so badly. Say it again but pretend that you didn't have an unlimited bank account.
I lost jobs and got 1-2 weeks with no benefits. This is average. Why are government workers an elite class?
Federal law only permits 8 months of severance payments… until start of next fiscal year.
Agree!! The bill probably wont go anywhere, but at least we’d get the spineless Republicans on record as they give hard-working Americans the middle finger!!!
I like your way of thinking. There is no guarantee these workers who took the buy out will get anything, especially if the government isn't funded past March, I think ¿?. This is so shameful leaving workers high and dry with no recourse.
Great point. Do something constructive work with a great initiative - I only wonder what the Media response would be if the show was on the other foot.
Because they don’t have the votes. Quit demanding bullshit posturing and keep hammering the GOP. Dem bashing is a sickness.
Because the Republican Congress will never allow it to pass.
They’re afraid to be targeted. Afraid to be called out. Afraid to have to live like regular citizens check to check. Each day more people die, planes falling from the sky. Diseases. Nobody cares past themselves.
No more economic outpatient care on the taxpayer dime. None of that should happen.
Because the firings were illegal. You don’t validate illegal actions that undermined the role of Congress by cleaning them up.
Also, Trump is taking the stance that only he decides laws and spending for the Executive Branch - what stance are you taking by proposing another law that he would ignore instead of focusing on the initial crime?
If they propose legislation, won't the majority Republicans just reject it? I'm thinking there is nothing Dems are going to get passed, nothing they can fight. I have to give it to Heritage Foundation... they planned all of this out so perfectly, Dems have been completely shut out. I'm disgusted.
