Matt Boxer
Proud Tri Valley millennial. Clinton/Obama New Democrat who’s trying to hard to bring Dems back to sanity in a world where we need it more than ever.
- Elon got caught trying to train his AI to get his view on the farm murders
- MAGA was ready to blame Elon had Trump lost. Anyone with some connections in politics both federal and state knew this.
- New lawsuit -proposed national class action- alleges America PAC and Elon Musk didn't pay petition signers, canvassers as promised last year. Attorneys expect more than 100 people to join the class with America PAC et al owing members $5 million or more. www.cnbc.com/2025/05/14/e... via @cnbc.com
- Over & over Republicans have gone hard on attacks on trans people & lost, especially in local elections. @kombiz.bsky.social has been tracking this in school board races & the anti-trans ppl have repeatedly failed.

- Beshear and Laura Kelly did that as well IIRC.
- [Not loaded yet]
- Rebutting it is the only successful option unless the GOP using it clearly looks like desperation (as was the case in the GA senate runoffs, WI and Omaha). Or a combo would work as well with a response ad saying “my opponent is desperate and falsely accusing me of wanting men in women’s spaces”.
- Emotional. Trump may be president but Syria’s revolution and freedom won.
- This is why so many in Silicon Valley privately hate Elon. They know his influence is corrosive but don’t speak up.
- Saying “it’s Elon wot won it” is a cope. Denialism won’t fix the problems Dems have
- I suspect its less effective the more local the election. people have trouble conceptualizing what it is the Federal Government does and how it effects their lives its easier to run on BS culture shit people understand (better) what theirlocal government does, and wants them to fix the potholes
- I agree. Plus with the exception of last fall the GOP usually invokes them in desperation or Dems rebut it (both Brown and Allred outran Kamala). The they/them ad was fatal cuz it launched early and was never rebutted.
- Denial won’t fix Dems’ problems. The anti trans ads worked in 2024 because Dems had baggage on that issue and refused to attack it. The reason it didn’t work in either Omaha nor Wisconsin is that it came across as desperate in an election that had been defined in the GOP’s disfavor
- As we also saw in the SCOWIS election, maybe there is no great crisis about What Democrats Must Do that requires taking the Very Bad Advice of the White Male Gen X/Elder Millennial Pundits or the Bitcoin Adjacent Word Policing Senators, bc a majority of voters do not like lawless authoritarianism 🤔🤷♂️
- The same mistake the pundits made wrt Obama’s win in 2012. Focused on immigration when in reality it was Paul Ryan’s economic policies that cost the GOP
- Yep. I think we’re underrating how another refugee crisis like 2015 is unlikely in the coming years
- In my lifetime I never thought we’d exceed the extent of antivax propaganda we got in the mid 2000s thanks to figures like Wakefield, Jenny McCarthy and RFK Jr going unquestioned but Fox seems to have exceeded even that
- A major factor as to why diagnoses went up in the first place is that schools etc under the ADA and IDEA require a diagnoses so that children can receive services
- [Not loaded yet]
- ADA and IDEA were the legislation that massively improved services for ppl with disabilities after 1990. Not a smartwatch
- Why Elon’s gutting of expertise and American global leadership will have effects. It won’t end with Kashmir believe me
- As I warned would happen from abt 2015 onwards the embrace of cancel culture instead of persuading those who have questions or are persuadable has set back progressive movements by a generation even if it didn’t seem obvious at the height of either Metoo or BLM.
- 'Sadly, a significant contribution to the prevention of sensible, two-way discussion of this sensitive issue was Stonewall’s 2015 decision to adopt an approach of “no debate” – online, on public platforms and in the broadcast media.' 💯🎯💯 www.theguardian.com/society/2025...
- When reactionaries and rich dudes run policy
- Under a Hillary Clinton presidency without a corrupt SEC chair I fully believed Elon would have been jailed for fraud over funding secured.
- Would partly agree. That said one can’t ever beat Trumpism without accepting where woke overreached
- Almost as if they love bad faith purity tests to the point one wonders how much help they’re getting from the GOP
- This is why Dems lose. ICE should be reformed but not abolished
- Terminally online fanatics never understood that many devout Christians lean towards social justice even if they’re quite conservative on social/cultural issues
- Those throwing a fit over this skeet don’t stand by Ukraine
- Alarming. Wakefield disciples are destroying our medical expertise in the name of pseudoscience
- I’ll maintain til the day I die that TPP was the best chance we had to decouple from China
- Politics often is defined by the events rather than what you think will define it
- XAI is hi latest cash machine tho it won’t stop Tesla blowing up if the Chinese kick him in the balls as retaliation for the tariffs. #TSLAQ
- The same puritan mentality that got Dems into this mess
- You smeared Biden appointees like Brian Deese and Neera Tanden and have busted your ass to shrink the Dem tent like every leftist puritan. Also Shor left the chats many years ago
- David Shor was outed by @semaforben.bsky.social as a Signal chat buddy with the same Silicon Valley people that are bankrolling the "Abundance Agenda" that Ezra Klein is hocking. www.semafor.com/article/04/2... Schumer, whose kids work for BigTech, is also Silicon Valley owned.
- Sorry to double QT this, but the batshit insane reaction to this proves Ezra’s thesis in Abundance. The “left” in this country has become pathologically averse to producing any outcomes ever, and is determined to merely sit in the corner *critiquing* power, never exercising it to produce results

- I’m less fazed by it because the Bay predated the country by over half a decade.
- [Not loaded yet]
- Indeed. And it’s notable that there’s a strong correlation between NIMBY and leftism as has been the case here in the Bay for years
- I don’t think them being anti woke in and of itself was what cost them. What cost them was sounding too much like Trump (which was obvious long before he returned tbf)
- in less than a week, two conservative opposition leaders in australia and canada who tried to win their elections on anti-woke platforms (with an air of You Know Who) have not only lost their elections, but lost their *seats* as well. yikes. www.reuters.com/world/asia-p...
- You’re right. They’d rather be a rump minority of 30 Warrens than have the Gallegos, Slotkins et al of the world be the deciding vote
- This is a good thing and those triggered by this need their head examined

- Stern tends to be a doomer so if he’s hopeful we’re good
- Trump appointee as well. It’s over
- BREAKING: U.S. District Court Judge Richard Myers orders the NC State Board of Elections to certify a 734-vote win for Democratic Supreme Court Justice Allison Riggs and rejects all of Griffin's election protests. Judge stays order for one week so Griffin may appeal. #ncpol
- My pinned tweet on the old site isn’t “the purity left has blood on their hands” for nothing. Tweeted it not long after Roe was overturned for a reason. Still true to this very day
- Also: 3) there have been many more sources confirming that Biden snubbing and then investigating him was what was the final straw

- Kemp confirmed in a statement x.com/briankempga/...
- [Not loaded yet]
- Hence why I said that getting Rogers to run in MI is a miracle in and of itself
- All we need is a Collins retirement and Dems are likely to make net gains. That said this makes GOP gains in 26 in the senate unlikely
- KEMP OUT www.politico.com/news/2025/05...
- She was right to apologize. The comment was in fact offensive towards the victims of grooming gangs which were partly enabled by a culture in which ppl refused to call it out for fear of being called racist
- Trump didn’t save Albo to the same extent he did Carney but it’s notable that the 2 conservatives who chose a Trumpist style (Poillievre, Dutton) lost while those who stuck to the traditional script like Friedrich Merz and Doug Ford won.
- They’re not Nazis ffs
- [Not loaded yet]
- Yep and I’m more than happy to see ppl like Lindsay and Peterson call out the Nazi sympathizers Tucker is all too happy to associate with. I fear the Nick Fuentes’s of the world as much as I do the pro Hamas protesters
- I believe it’s far more sinister in light of the leaked Silicon Valley signal groups. Tucker Carlson is the nexus of an increasingly pro global far right and pro Putin POV that’s infecting the GOP. Tucker was vouching for Vance from the moment he ran for US Senate in Ohio
- There’s no house or even senate majority for cuts largely because A: enough of the more MAGA members aren’t fiscal hawks. B: Those in districts Harris won or Trump won by less than 5 hold the balance of power.
- Dems have many issues yet it’s undeniable that there’s been a revulsion to Trump’s and Elon’s excesses
- Beattie is a Kremlin asset in the state department
- The inability of trans rights activists to blacklist these freaks while hating those who want normalcy like Brianna Wu and Sarah McBride says all you need to know abt why so many have been driven into the TERF camp.
