- Smartphones are a substance
- Angry judge roasts Biglaw lawyers for their "collective debacle" filing a brief where "~9 of the 27 legal citations in the 10-page brief were incorrect in some way" due to Generative AI digitalcommons.law.scu.edu/cgi/viewcont... Lawyers will pay $31k for their sloppiness 🤖😵
- The weird thing about all these guides to prompting is that we are just teaching mid-tier executives to give machines the context and structured instructions most of them fail to give to their human teams.
- Any business leader who’s jamming AI into their company out of FOMO and not by looking at process and ROI deserves a seat on the kerb and not the board.
- I wrote about the myth of the "AI-native" startup and new data finding buyers' remorse from CEOs who have attempted to spread it throughout their organizations www.platformer.news/ai-native-st...
- Ah here
- Alarming treatment of a US citizen
- I'm learning to love Webflow as a commercial platform but JESUS it's an awful place to be editing copy.
- 'I wonder if I can build around this problem myself in Lovable' is becoming my default mode of thinking when I hit something I can't do on the internet now. Very empowering for a non-engineer to create my own solutions to problems.
- Constantly astonished by people's inability to self-edit. Clarity is currency. Say less.

- Anybody else watching this? Seems bad.
- Interesting that the scale of challenges posed by AI are one of the reason the new pope chose the name he did.

- For academics who want to understand the scale at which AI will be used by their students and how they need to adjust their thinking, this is also a good test
- The more execs understand AI, the more they fear it. What's your boardroom's p/doom?
- The American calls himself Pope Leo The world will know him as Uncle Psalm
- Absolutely true that you start to see the patterns & tropes, even in extremely well-prompted copy, in the same way that the human eye is rarely tricked fully by CGI. Those that stick their heads in the sand will be oblivious to the nuance and become victims of that they seek to ignore, in time.
- Nailed it.
- What are the odds it’s an old white guy
- Dua Lipa as a literary interviewer wasn't on my bingo card but she's a natural at it - and why wouldn't she be? www.youtube.com/@service95
- Had a user go from receipt of RFP to live launch site for a new product in minutes with @getnoan.com & Lovable.dev today. Business-building has changed irrevocably.
- Bonne chance Tommy Boy!

- Always mad and a bit alarming to see how two devices measure HR at very different levels for the same exercise: one with chart is Garmin chest strap, other is Whoop on wrist
- Ultimately, both sovereignty and journalism are owned wholly or in part by rich men who see them as playthings or vehicles for further enrichment, both in Kentucky and real life at large. Decadent & depraved, my friends, decadent & deprived.
- I half wonder do we avoid dication/voice-to-text out of some sort of intellectual snobbery around writing. There's this sense that if you write something, the act of making words pour from your fingertips rather than your mouth makes it worthy. Reminder: AA Gill barely wrote a word, phoned it in.
- Adding voice control to @getnoan.com has been a lot of fun and feels so powerful. I see it as a huge boon for access - whether it's for the partially sighted, or people who struggle with dyslexia or ADHD, or just nerves around writing. Next stop: JARVIS! www.getnoan.com/blog/voice-c...

- Not only is this gross legal incompetence, but you have to misuse Gen AI pretty spectacularly at this point to get results this bad.
- The depth of understanding and clarity of writing in this is beyond the capacity of 90% of people in their best day. Whether you love or loathe AI it’s important to understand its capacity & how it’s advancing. That’s what determines what it displaces and how it will change society.
- I asked ChatGPT (o3, deep research) to explain a quote from a 1930s childrens' novel. I gave it zero context. It gave me 45 pages of deeply considered writing, explaining the quote & its meaning in the context of the book, but also as applied to modern parenting, leadership etc.
- Sign up - see you in ten!
- The juxtaposition of this iconic interview with breathless papal funeral fandom reporting on Irish airwaves is jarring. Michael O’Brien’s defiant, brave statement is worth rewatching.
- A bad thing.
- Well the NIH has cancelled the Women's Health Initiative, the largest study of women in history It has been running continuously since 1991 and has provided massive key knowledge about diseases in women Unreal www.science.org/content/arti...
- If that's the case, they'll be chronically out of date and completely worthless. Impossible for government to keep pace with developments.
