- Hospitality work keeps me so humble because I’ll do my makeup and put on an outfit I like and then I’ll have to finish it with Sensible Shoes. Clown work.

- The idea of watching a sport seriously (a fun activity, fundamentally unserious) and not relishing in rivals’ embarrassment and failure is completely alien to me. (I mean to laugh at NOT to go “yes I hate all of the people who like that team to their core”) (Excluding Lazio)

- Lads you wanted VAR brought in to stop egregious errors like the offside 2013. You cannot now claim that you believe linesmen are perfectly able to flag obvious offside without error. You CAN claim that you would prefer the errors to goals being scored and allowed, but that’s not being said.
- What’s just struck me is that much like there’s identifiable “Republican Makeup” for white women, I think men have identifiable “Republican tattoos” Anyway, for no reason, here’s a US Soccer post

- I wish teams’ tactical departments and coaching staffs felt Liverpool were as terrible as rival fans do, would make it all so much easier on the lads.

When the mother came, she was abducted and the daughter was suddenly of no interest to ICE. www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...

- Reposted by Mari MurphyThe political parties in this country are not democratically controlled or accountable to the people. They are accountable to the donors. Obviously, the resulting political system is not democracy or one in which public opinion influences policy.
- Reds booing, Blues welcoming coaches. What has this world come to?

- I think this framing — the need for a “positive vision of society” — is really crucial. Anti-immigration rhetoric does not solve any problems in the slightest (causes more!), but by getting people angry you’re not asked to solve any problems. It’s always a sly low-effort attempt to keep power.
- Hiya Felix mate how much do you need? I’ll have an ask around
- German referee Felix Zwayer has been selected to officiate the Europa League final between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United on May 21. Zwayer was given a six-month ban by his country’s football federation for his involvement in a match-fixing scandal in 2005. 🔗 bit.ly/4j2rD6V

- Thousands of words on everything discussed over the past day, in which I try to avoid the obvious & ask us all to maybe be a bit better. I cannot promise that you'll agree with all of this but I do promise that at no point in this behemoth do I claim to tell you whether the booing is right or wrong
