- #LongCovidAwareness should be about accepting that science and technology have very real limits. It would be dangerous to assume otherwise. "There are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in [our] philosophy". Like most things worth thinking about, this is both scary and fascinating.
- I've also learned that we are many. I completely reject the idea that we have one identity or personality that we carry with us throughout our lives. We are like the river. The water flows through us, but we don't own it. We are just the space in which it flows. 3/4

- My backyard is frequently visited by a beautiful black cat with green eyes. I was out eating my afternoon snack and the cat tried to grab one of my squirrel neighbors. I scolded him/her in Portuguese. The "WTF are you ranting about, you meaningless minion?" reaction of the cat was simply priceless.

- Area used for illegal gold mining in Brazil between 2019 and 2022 surpassed the area allotted for industrial mining. Most of it is in indigenous land in the Amazon Rainforest. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
- Purple Martins were the sole object of my focus and dedication for almost 8 years, but I never lived within their range. Yesterday, however, for the first time, I think I saw a male Purple Martin in my own hometown. Can't wait for their lightsaber noise to fill the sky!

- Coming back to this, I think the extra "-gul" came to me because of the Portuguese word "engolir", which means "to swallow". Its sound evokes the "-gul" sound. The image of being swallowed by a complex model is self-explanatory.
