I cannot tell you how many times I have personally seen people NOT charged with anything despite being threatened and cajoled and even spending the night in jail or detention because they said nothing but demanding a lawyer over and over again.

We tried opening the tent *less than a year ago* and not only did we lose but we saw a rightward shift with depressed left turnout. We have tried it their way and that experiment failed, badly, and we may lose free elections because of it.
