Republicans are the bad guys, but Democrats always create the conditions for Republicans to take power and use it for evil ends.

Big shoutout to Merrick Garland, who sat passively as the GOP stole his SCOTUS seat, and then sat passively in the DoJ and slow-walked the Trump prosecution.
If Biden and the Dems actually advertised what the IRA did instead of just assuming that Americans would somehow magically figure it out. Hell, I’m active in politics and *I* can’t even say wtf the IRA does to address the problems regular working folks face.
If the Dems had focused on real “kitchen table” issues that affect the majority of households, instead of niche issues that affect 0.5% of the population while simultaneously alienating about 50%, the GOP wouldn’t have had nearly as much to campaign on.
And of course, if the Dems actually had a coherent ideology and set of inviolable principles that they stood for over time, instead of frantically shifting positions and changing policies based on whatever direction the political winds were blowing that day, they might actually inspire some voters
